Water charges can be paid as follows:
- In person by cheque, postal order, cash, debit card or credit card at the council’s cash office 9.00 AM-4.00 PM Monday - Thursday and 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM on Friday;, County Hall, Tallaght and 9.30 AM-3.30 PM Monday - Friday, Civic Offices, Clondalkin. Both offices are open through Lunch.
- By credit card/ debit card over the phone.
- Through the post by cheque or postal order payable to South Dublin County Council addressed to the Finance Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Town Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
- Through the bank (account details as supplied on bill).
Responsibility for leaks depends on the location of the leak. Any leak on the consumer side of the meter is the responsibility of the consumer and up to the meter is the Council’s responsibility.
Customers with regular low consumption are put on a Fixed Account the equivalent of the Minimum charge and while the Meter readings are monitored a fixed bill for the year is issued, payable in two instalments.
All Water accounts will; however be set up as ;Metered accounts by the end of 2006
Yes there is a minimum consumption charge of; €48.00 per quarter plus the relevant Rental charge.
Water is currently charged at €1.50 per cubic meter or €6.82 per 1000 Gallons with an additional Quarterly charge for Meter Rental which can vary depending on the size of the meter.
A Water Inspector takes meter readings quarterly and these are input by Water Charges Staff and bills are then generated using the charges as outlined above.
